Tea Cake

I suppose any cake you have with tea can be a tea cake but this tea cake has actual tea in it.  The recipe is from The Georgian Feast by Darra Goldstein.  I also was able to use my mother's plum jam in and on the cake.

It's Trader Joe's hot wheat cereal with rice milk, pecans, dried cranberries and maple syrup.

For Merisi

This woman and her little blonde charge were our neighbors at Demel.  She was drawing glamorous figures in fancy gowns for the little girl to color in.  And ordering sweets.  I once had the best birthday ever the day my husband led me to Demel in the rain as a surprise.
